Animal chiropractic in St. Charles County

Like people, animals suffer from back, neck, pelvic and musculoskeletal problems, and like us they can benefit from chiropractic care. Dr. Ken sees most small and large animals, by veterinarian referral, at Animal Talk Medical Center in Wentzville.

About animal chiropractic

For more than 40 years, animal chiropractors have been helping horses, dogs, cats, farm animals and some exotic animals with non-invasive, drug-free techniques that most animals accept readily.

Dr. Ken Inchiostro, chiropractor since 1997, has experience treating animals, working with veterinarians and animal owners.

Your veterinarian stays in charge of your animal's health care. Dr. Ken works with your veterinarian and with you.

Missouri law requires a veterinarian referral

Under Missouri law (RSMo 340.216), animal chiropractic is provided with a referral from a licensed veterinarian who has a current veterinarian-client-patient relationship with your animal. The referring veterinarian may limit the number of visits or the length of treatment.

Chiropractic care does not replace veterinary care. Your veterinarian diagnoses and treats illness. If your animal is injured, in sudden or severe pain or seems seriously ill, contact your veterinarian or an emergency animal hospital right away.

Read section 340.216 on the Missouri Revisor of Statutes website

Animal patients

It starts with your veterinarian

Every animal visit begins with a referral from your veterinarian, who stays in charge of your animal's health care.

Changes worth mentioning to your veterinarian

Owners sometimes notice these changes. They are not a diagnosis, and many have causes that have nothing to do with the spine.

  • Stiffness
  • Trouble with stairs or jumping
  • Changes in how they walk
  • Sensitivity when touched along the back

Always start with your veterinarian. Only a veterinarian can tell you what is causing a change in your animal, and whether chiropractic care is appropriate.

Animal chiropractic questions

Do I need a veterinarian's referral?

Yes. Missouri law requires a referral from a licensed veterinarian who has a current veterinarian-client-patient relationship with your animal. Talk with your veterinarian first, then ask Animal Talk how the referral should reach them. The referring veterinarian may also limit the number of visits.

Where does Dr. Ken see animals?

Dr. Ken sees animals by veterinarian referral on Tuesday afternoons at Animal Talk Medical Center, 12800 Veterans Memorial Pkwy, Wentzville, MO 63385. Call Animal Talk at (636) 332-5900 to schedule, and ask them to confirm the day and time before you go.

What kinds of animals can have chiropractic care?

Dr. Ken sees most small and large animals. In general, animal chiropractors work with horses, dogs, cats, farm animals and some exotic animals. Whether chiropractic care suits your animal is a question for your veterinarian. You can also call Animal Talk at (636) 332-5900 to ask about your specific animal.

Is chiropractic safe for my animal?

Your veterinarian decides whether it is appropriate for your animal, which is why a referral comes first. Animal chiropractic uses non-invasive, drug-free techniques. Share your animal's history with your veterinarian and with Dr. Ken. Results vary, and no outcome can be promised.

How many visits will my animal need?

It depends on your animal and why you came in, so there is no set number. The referring veterinarian may limit the number of visits or the length of treatment. Ask your veterinarian and Dr. Ken what to expect, and remember that results vary.

Can I bring my animal to the Weldon Spring office?

No. Animal appointments are at Animal Talk Medical Center in Wentzville, not at the Weldon Spring office. Call Animal Talk at (636) 332-5900 to schedule. If you have questions first, you can call the Weldon Spring office at 636-300-8089.
