Chiropractic care

What does a chiropractor do?

A chiropractor is a health care provider who uses hands-on care, mainly adjustments, to support how your spine and joints move. At Wolfrum Crossing Chiropractic, each patient is treated with a comprehensive strategy involving manual adjustments, education, nutritional support and wellness planning. Your first visit starts with your history and an exam.

Does an adjustment hurt?

Many people find adjustments comfortable, though you may feel brief pressure, and some people feel mild soreness afterward. If anything feels uncomfortable, tell Dr. Ken right away so he can change what he is doing. Experiences vary from person to person.

What is the popping sound?

The pop you sometimes hear during an adjustment is thought to be gas shifting in the fluid around a joint, similar to the sound of cracking your knuckles. It is common, and many adjustments make no sound at all. If you have questions about what you feel or hear, ask Dr. Ken.

How many visits will I need?

It depends on what is going on, how long you have had it and how your body responds. Dr. Ken will recommend a plan after your exam and check your progress along the way. No number of visits or result can be promised, and you can ask about your plan at any time.

See what to expect at your first visit.

Is chiropractic safe?

For most people, chiropractic care is considered low risk when it is done by a trained provider, but every kind of care has some risk. Some people feel mild soreness afterward. Dr. Ken reviews your history and examines you first. Talk with your medical doctor about your health, and call 911 in an emergency.

Can I see a chiropractor while pregnant?

It may be possible, but it depends on your health and your pregnancy. Tell Dr. Ken you are pregnant when you book, and he will review your history and examine you first. Spinal decompression is generally not appropriate during pregnancy. The office also offers prenatal massage. Check with your prenatal care provider too.
